How Will COVID-19 Affect the Economy of Nepal?

With businesses coming to a global halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic, global financial markets are in freefall. The whole world is in lockdown.
According to the Bank of America Global Research, Global GDP growth is likely to be just 2.8% in 2020 which would be the worst year since the financial crisis and the Great Recession ended in 2009.

Altogether, Nepal’s economy is being severely impacted. Although Nepal has not faced severe problems health-wise, its economy is expected to worsen in the coming months. The Asian Development Bank’s ‘COVID-19 Economic Impact Assessment Template’ released the best and worst-case scenarios for countries in the region, which predicts a loss of up to $322 million.

Let’s find out how this soon-to-be global economic crisis will affect the economy of Nepal.

Agriculture Sector

Agriculture remains Nepal’s principal economic activity. Agriculture is the main occupation of around 66% of the population, which provides 36% of GDP.

Nepal Rastra Bank, in its Mid-Term Review of the 2019-20 Monetary Policy, said that the spread of the coronavirus, along with decreased paddy production this year, would hurt the economy and this lockdown is sure to bring more harm.

Remittance

Nepal’s GDP is heavily dependent on remittance (16.39%) from foreign workers. If industries and businesses operating in the Gulf shut down due to the coronavirus, many Nepali workers will have to face unemployment for some time. Nepal has also stopped issuing labor permits to Nepali migrant workers for the time being.

Tourism Industry

The tourism sector has been the biggest victim of the Corona Virus. It has been impacted by travel restrictions imposed by Nepal and other countries. The Nepal government has also canceled all climbing expedition permits, including Mt. Everest for the spring season.

The government of Nepal has postponed Visit Nepal 2020 campaign, Sagarmatha Sambad 2020, and other international events until further notice.

Manufacturing Industry

The impact of the coronavirus has been most visible in the manufacturing industry, as most raw materials come from China. “Nepal’s pharmaceutical industry is heavily dependent on China for the chemicals used to make medicines,” said Shekhar Golchha, senior vice-president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Construction Sector

The construction sector has already been sluggish from the early days of this fiscal year. Nepal imports a significant quantity of hardware used in buildings from China and hardware traders have said they will be in short supply after a month.

Projects like the Kathmandu-Narayangarh Road Widening Project and the expansion of the Kathmandu Ring Road, various hydropower projects and transmission line projects have been affected as Chinese contractors and workers have not returned.

The deadline for the Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa has already been postponed until mid-May from March 31 as vital components like runway lighting, baggage handling and other equipment for the airport terminal are unlikely to be delivered on time.

Hartwig Schafer, World Bank Vice President for the South Asia Region, said, “Declining industrial production and imports, as well as tensions in the financial markets reveal a sharp economic slowdown in South Asia.” With that context in mind, the report remains cautiously optimistic that a slight rebound in investment and private consumption could jumpstart South Asia’s growth up to 6.3 percent in 2020, slightly above East Asia and the Pacific.

In Nepal, GDP growth is projected to average 6.5 percent over this and next fiscal year, backed by strong services and construction activity due to rising tourist arrivals and higher public spending.

How to Stay Physically and Mentally Healthy During the Covid-19 Quarantine?

The outbreak of Corona Virus (Covid-19) was declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on 30 January 2020 by WHO. After its mass transmission globally, it has killed thousands of people, and WHO has declared it a pandemic and requested every nation and its people to follow preventive methods.

The persistent news of positive tests and reported deaths in other countries have created widespread concerns in Nepal as well. The government of Nepal has postponed Visit Nepal 2020 campaign, Sagarmatha Sambad 2020, and other international events until further notice. 

Along with the events mentioned above, to control the possible spread of Covid-19, new rules are being implemented, such as not allowing the gathering of more than 25 people in a single place, close down all cinema halls, schools, and colleges, offices, social distancing and so on. 

The partial shutdown that the government has in place may result in the degradation of the physical and mental health of the citizens. So let us talk about the ways to prevent them and stay healthy for the time being.

Nutrition

As staying safe from coronavirus is all about strengthening immunity, a balanced diet is crucial.

During a pandemic like Covid-19, most health advice can be simplified into simple behaviors, like eating a balanced diet, exercising, and getting good sleep. If you do buy canned, dried, or frozen goods, choose those low in saturated fat, salt, and added sugars. Look for foods with less than 5 grams of added sugar per serving, less than 200 milligrams of salt per serving, and less than 1.5 grams of saturated fat per serving, Byker Shanks recommends. Fitness

Fitness exercises will help you stay physically and mentally active to fight against Covid-19.

According to the data, except for the old and sick people, everybody infected has been recovered. So, the best way to fight Covid-19 is to stay healthy. Even if the gyms and parks are closed down, you can still work out from home. Many gyms and fitness instructors are also offering virtual classes right now. There are also plenty of no-equipment-required exercises like squats, burpees, sit-ups, planks, push-ups, and mountain climbers, which you can do in even a small space.

Stress and Sleep

Getting enough sleep is crucial for maintaining your stress level and getting back your energy.

People who are used to engage with people throughout their day may find it stressful to boycott themself from social interaction. Stress can affect endocrine, respiratory, circulatory, and digestive systems as well as musculoskeletal systems leading to various problems like low energy, headaches, upset stomach, aches, pains, and tense muscles along with severe cases of insomnia. 

So managing stress and anxiety is crucial for getting enough sleep, and getting enough sleep is vital for just about every other aspect of your health. To prevent oneself from stressing out, one can apply various measures like reading a book, perform meditation and yoga, practice mindfulness, make a proper daily routine to ease the mind throughout the day, increase your exposure to daylight, and so on.

Cleaning

As coronavirus can spread through surfaces, keeping your home clean will reduce the chances of getting contaminated.

Although the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said surface contamination doesn’t seem to be the primary way the Covid-19 spreads, research shows that it can live on plastic and stainless steel surfaces for 72 hours, cardboard for 24 hours and copper for 4 hours.

So, WHO has suggested washing hand towels frequently, and removing your shoes and clothes as soon as you return from any trips outside. Everybody should keep their house and surroundings clean and use alcohol-based products to cleanse ourselves and the goods we use to keep the contaminated virus away.

Health Care

As the researches show that Covid-19 proves fatal only to those who have previous illness and problems, everybody must stay healthy to fight against it. Prevention methods should be taken all the time, like staying clean, keeping body fit, consuming nutritious foods, getting proper sleep, and avoiding unnecessary exposure to the outside world.

Rather than panicking, one must consult the healthcare officers as soon as symptoms like cough, fever, tiredness, and difficulty in breathing are seen. The proper diagnosis must be made in order to verify the status of the Covid-19 virus and instantly act to cure it if the infection of the virus is positive. Except for these cases, everybody should postpone their medical appointment so that they don’t get exposed to the infected people as well as the needy people can reach out to the doctors and medical services when it’s necessary.

Major Events Cancelled or Postponed & Preponed Due to COVID-19 (Corona Virus)

The Coronavirus that originated from Wuhan, China, has spread like wildfire. Recent data shows that it has taken the lives of more than 9, 000, and inflecting more than 200,000 people worldwide.

Schools, hostels, restaurants, hotels, and public spaces have been shut down and people are forced to stay inside the house until further notice in almost all parts of the world. The pandemic impacted nearly every industry globally in recent weeks affecting various programs and events around the globe.

Here are some of the significant events that got canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Visit Nepal 2020

The government and tourism department of Nepal authoritatively reported that Nepal would declare the year 2020 as Visit Nepal 2020. It is a year committed to the tourism industry with a vision of making a reasonable brand picture of Nepal as a travel and vacationer destination. It also focused on backing up the tourism foundations of Nepal, enhancing the growth of the tourism industry, and local tourism as a supportable industry.

Unfortunately, the Nepal Government requested all the travelers to postpone their travel to Nepal until the outbreak of the COVID-19 is controlled.

London Book Fair

London Book Fair is a major annual trade fair that draws around 25,000 publishing professionals from around the world. On March 4th, Reed Exhibitions announced that the London Book Fair 2020, scheduled to take place at Olympia, London, from 10 to March 12th, would be canceled following the escalation of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Europe.

They had assured the participants that the fair would continue in 2021.

CERAWeek Energy Conference

CERAWeek is an annual energy conference organized by the information and insights company IHS Markit in Houston, Texas. Delegates from over 80 countries were expected to participate in CERAWeek 2020. But on March 1, it was officially canceled, scheduled to take place in Houston on March 9-13.

CERAWeek will continue in Houston on March 1-5, 2021.

ASEAN Meeting

The ASEAN Summit is a biannual meeting held by the members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations concerning the economic, political, security, and socio-cultural development of Southeast Asian countries.

President Donald Trump’s administration has postponed the summit, which was to be held in Las Vegas on March 14th.

Game Developers Conference

Game Developers Conference is the largest developer-facing event in North America, which is only open to industry professionals. The event hosts Game Developers Choice Awards as well as presentations and exhibitions from many of the largest game companies in the world who use it to promote new games, discuss industry-facing events, and share knowledge.

After close consultation with associates in the game development industry and the community around the world, they postponed the Game Developers Conference from March until “later in the summer.”

Global Fashion Week

With the cancellation of several events at Paris Fashion Week, organizers have called off Rakuten Fashion Week in Japan. The fashion events were closed off for the public and were broadcasted live on TV.

The Dalai Lama’s Engagements

His Holiness The Dalai Lama’s personal physician, as well as consultants, have advised a postponement of all public engagement for the time and has canceled all his public engagements until further notice.

The ordination ceremony for monks was rescheduled and the officials said the announcement will be made shortly afterward.

Mobile World Congress (MWC)

MWC Barcelona is an annual trade show organized by GSMA, dedicated primarily to the mobile communications industry. Altogether about 100,000 people, including device manufacturers, network equipment providers, representatives of wireless carriers, the press, and local people, attend the show every year.

After exhibitors and companies pulling out of MWC, the organizers GSM Association (GSMA), has now canceled the event altogether.

Facebook F8 Developers Conference

Facebook F8 is an annual conference, intended for developers and entrepreneurs who build products and services around Facebook’s products and services. Facebook decided to cancel the annual meeting in San Jose, California, scheduled for May 5-6.

Facebook had previously canceled its March global marketing summit in San Francisco, also due to coronavirus concerns.

Sports

All the major sports organizers around the world such as National Hockey League (NHL), National Collegiate Athletic Association, National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball (MBL), PGA Tour, Major League Soccer, Union of European Football Associations (UEFA Champions League) and Football Association canceled the upcoming events and games until the Covid-19 is controlled.

Other events, such as the Indian Premier League (IPL) & Everest Premier League (EPL), are also postponed.

अर्जुनका केही कुरा जसलाई अपनाएर राम्रो लिडर बन्न सकिन्छ

महाभारतको उद्योग पर्वमा भनिए अनुसार श्रीकृष्णलाई  अर्जुनका केही कुरा साह्रै राम्रो लाग्थ्यो, जसका कारण अर्जुनले सदैव विजय हासिल गरे । अर्जुनका ती गुणहरूकै कारण श्रीकृष्णले  महाभारत युद्धका क्रममा अर्जुनको साथ दिएका थिए ।

अर्जुनको स्वभावका यी कुरा सिकेर कुनै पनि मानिस राम्रो लीडर बन्न सक्छ । यी कुरालाई आत्मसात् गरेर दैनिक जीवनमा वा आफ्नो स्वभावमा सामेल गर्नाले मेहनतको पूर्ण फल मिल्नुका साथै हरेक काममा सफलता हात लाग्छ ।

के थिए त अर्जुनका गुण

बलं वीर्यं च तेजश्च शीघ्रता लघुहस्तता।

अविषादश्च धैर्यं च पार्थान्नान्यत्र विद्यते।।

हातको फुर्ती

अर्जुनसमान श्रेष्ठ धर्नुधर अरू कोही थिएन । अर्जुन जति फुर्तिले बाण चलाउँथे त्यति कसैले सक्दैनथ्यो, उनको जस्तो स्फूर्ति अरू कसैको हातमा थिएन । अर्जुनको यही गुणले उनलाई  सर्वश्रेष्ठ धर्नुधारी बनाएको थियो । यसै गरी कुनै पनि कामलाई सही अवसरमा समय नगुमाईकन पूरा गर्ने कोशिश गर्नुपर्छ । यसबाट सफलताको सम्भावना वृद्धि हुन्छ ।

बल

महाभारतमा यस्ता थुप्रै कथा छन्, जसले अर्जुनको बल र बुद्धि दर्शाउँ छन्। अर्जुनमा शारीरिक बलका साथ-साथै  मानसिक शक्ति पनि निकै थियो । यसै कारण वजह उनी चलाखिपूर्ण नीति निर्माण गरेर दुश्मनहरूलाई जित्दथे। त्यसैगरी  हामीले पनि कुनै काम गर्दा बुद्धि पूर्वक योजना बनाएर गर्नुपर्छ। जसबाट निश्चित सफलता प्राप्त हुन्छ।

शीघ्रकारिता

भनिन्छ, हरेक काम गर्ने एक सही समय हुन्छ, यदि हामीले कुनै कुरामा निर्णय लिन ढिलाइ गर्यौं भने त्यसको अर्थ नरहनसक्छ । यो कुराको महत्व अर्जुनलाई राम्रोसँग थाहा थियो । उनी कुनै पनि काम गर्न त्यति बेर लगाउँदैनथे ताकि त्यस कामको महत्त्व नै सकियोस् । श्रीकृष्ण आफ्नो नीति सबै पाण्डवलाई बताउँथे तर त्यसलाई बुझेर सबैभन्दा पहिले लागू गर्ने अर्जुन नै हुन्थे । यसै गरी हामीले पनि कुनै मौका गुमाउनुहुँदैन । समयको महत्व बुझेर काम गर्नुपर्छ ।

विषादहीनता

श्रीकृष्ण स्वयंले गीता उपदेशमा अर्जुनलाई मोहमाया छाडेर आफ्नो कर्मलाई महत्व दिनुपर्छ भनेर सिकाएका थिए ।  त्यसपछि अर्जुनमा विषादहीनता वा कुनै पनि कुराले दुखी नहुने गुण विकसित भएको थियो । फलत: युद्धमा अर्जुन कुनै परिस्थितिमा विचलित भएका थिएनन् ।  उनी आफ्नो कर्म गर्दै रहे। यसैगरी हामीले पनि सुख, दुखभन्दा माथि उठेर, आलस्य छोडेर आफ्नो काम पूरै मन लगाएर गर्नुपर्छ ।

धैर्य

भगवान कृष्णका अनुसार, जुन मनुष्यमा धैर्य हुन्छ, ऊ स्वत: महान बन्छ । अर्जुन बुद्धिमान तथा शक्तिशाली हुनुका साथ-साथै धैर्यवान् पनि थिए । अर्जुनको जस्तो धैर्य जुन मानिसमा हुन्छ ऊ कुनै पनि काम हतारमा गर्दैन । धैर्यपूर्वक काम गर्दा बुद्धि भ्रमित हुँदैन र अवश्य पनि सफलता प्राप्त हुन्छ ।

पराक्रम

पराक्रम अर्थात हरेक काम गर्ने क्षमता। महाभारतमा केवल अर्जुन नै यस्ता थिए, जो कुनै पनि चुनौती वा समस्याको सामना गर्न डराउँदैनथे । यसै गरी हामी पनि हरेक काम यसरी नै पूरा गर्नका लागि पराक्रमी हुनुपर्छ । अर्जुनले जस्तै गरी हामीले पनि पराक्रम देखाएर हर परिस्थितिको सामना गर्नुपर्छ ।

तेज

बुद्धि र पराक्रमका साथसाथै अर्जुनको व्यक्तित्व पनि प्रभावशाली थियो । नियम एवं संयममा बस्ने भएका कारण अर्जुनको तेज अति नै प्रभावशाली थियो। यसै गरी हामीले पनि नियम र संयम पालन गर्नुपर्छ जसबाट हाम्रो तेज बढोस् र व्यक्तित्व पनि प्रभावशाली बनोस्।

सफलता हासिल गर्नका लागि आवश्यक १० कुरा

 सफल हुन नचाहने कोही छ ? पक्कै छैन।  उसो भए सफलताका लागि के कस्ता कुरा आवश्यक पर्छन् त ? हेरौँ,

सपना देख्ने हिम्मत

धेरैले भन्ने गर्छन्, ठूलो मान्छे बन्ने सपना देख्न छोड।  सरकारी जागिर खान प्रयास गर, नभए अन्य कुनै राम्रो जागिर खाएर जीवन सुख सन्तोष पूर्वक बाँच।

तैंले गर्छस् व्यापार ! खुरुक्क जागिर खोजेर खा।  नभा पैसा लगानी गरेर डुबाउनलाई अनेक थरि झन्झटमा नफस्।

तैंले लाखौँ कमाउने, हावा कुरा नगर्।  फाल्तु सपना देख्न छोड्। दिमाग सड्केला।  

यसरी सपना देख्न समेत बन्देज लगाउन खोज्ने मानिसको कमी छैन समाजमा।  तर याद राख्नुपर्ने कुरा के छ भने सपना कहिल्यै फाल्तु हुँदैन।

तसर्थ अरूको कुरा नसुनी केवल आफ्नो सपना पूरा गर्नतिर लाग्नुपर्छ।  त्यसका लागि दिनरात एक गर्नुपर्छ। नकारात्मक कुरा गर्नेहरू बाट टाढा रहनुपर्छ।  अरूले देख्दा पागल भएर काममा लागेको देखिए पनि आफ्नो सपना पूरा गर्न हिंडेको मानिस आफ्नै धुनमा मग्न भैरहेको हुन्छ।  

वाल्ट डिज्नीको नाम त धेरैले सुनेको हुनुपर्छ, उनी भन्ने गर्थे- ‘तपाईंले कुनै चीजको सपना देख्नुभयो भने त्यसलाई हासिल गर्न पनि सक्नुहुन्छ।’

अधिकांश व्यक्ति एउटै गोरेटोमा हिंड्न वा लकीरको फ़क़ीर बनिरहनमै मजा मान्छन्।  उनीहरू आफ्नो कम्फर्ट जोनबाट बाहिर निस्कन चाहँदैनन्। यहाँ नेर याद राख्नुपर्ने कुरा के छ भने सफल हुन चाहने व्यक्तिले सपना देख्ने हिम्मत गर्नुपर्छ।  जोखिम मोल्न डराउनु हुँदैन। जो जोखिम उठाउन नडराई सपना पूरा गर्न अघि सर्छ उही नै विजेता बन्दछ। भारतका प्रसिद्ध वैज्ञानिक डॉ. ए.पी.जे. अब्दुल कलामले भनेका छन्- सपना त्यो होइन जुन राति निदाएका बेला देखिन्छ बरु त्यो हो जसले हामीलाई निदाउन दिदैन।

दूरगामी सोच 

सफल व्यक्तिसँग प्रष्ट उद्देश्य हुन्छ।  उनीहरूलाई आफू केही वर्षपछि कुन स्थितिमा वा कहाँ पुग्छु भन्ने कुरा राम्रोसँग थाहा हुन्छ।  

आफ्नो आँखा बन्द गरिहेरौँ, के आफ्नो जीवनको तस्बिर प्रष्ट आइरहेको छ ? आँखा बन्द गर्दा पनि आफ्नो उद्देश्यलाई प्रष्ट देखिन्छ भने राम्रो, होइन भने आफ्नो लक्ष्य तय गर्नु आवश्यक छ ।

सफलताका लागि निर्विकल्प मेहनत

मेहनतको कुनै विकल्प छैन । कुनै सफल व्यक्तिलाई हेरेर कति भाग्यमानी, भाग्यले पनि कति साथ दिएको भनेर सोच्नु नादानी हो, भाग्यले सफल बनाउँछ भनी सोच्नु गल्ती हो।   यो भाग्य, उक्त व्यक्तिले कडा मेहनतद्वारा निर्माण गरेको हो। सफल व्यक्तिका भनाइलाई आधार मान्ने हो भने मनैदेखि कडा  मेहनत गरिन्छ र आफ्नो काममा शत प्रतिशत लागिन्छ भने भाग्यको जरूरत नै पर्दैन।  सदैव याद राख्नुपर्ने कुरा के छ भने सफल मानिस आफ्नो भाग्य आफैँ निर्माण गर्छन्।  

विफलतामा निडर

स्टीव जॉब्सको सफलताको सबभन्दा ठूलो रहस्य तथा विफल नहुनुका पछाडिको एक मात्र प्रेरणा थियो, मृत्युको डर।  हामी सबैले एक दिन यो संसार छोडेर जानै पर्छ, यो नकारात्मक नभई ध्रुवसत्य कुरा हो, जीवनको कटु सत्य हो ।  यदि जानु नै छ भने जे गर्नु छ त्यो नगरी कसरी जाने ? सफल वा विफल हुनु भनेको त पछिको कुरा, कामचाहिँ गर्नुपर्यो।  सफलता हासिल गर्ने हो भने आफूभित्र विफल हुनसक्ने तागत हुनुपर्छ। कुनै पनि कन्डिसनमा हार मान्नु हुँदैन। एउतै काम के गर्नु पर्छ भने विफलताबाट सिक्दै अघि बढिरहनुपर्छ।  आफ्नो गल्तीहरूबाट सिकेर तिनलाई सुधार्दै सफलताको कथा लेख्नुपर्छ। जब विफलताको डर पछि हट्छ अनि मानिसको कदम स्वत: अघि बढ्छ।

कामप्रति पूर्ण लगाव

सफल मानिस जुनसुकै काम गर्छन्, प्रेमपूर्वक गर्छन्।  आफ्नो कामप्रति गरिने प्रेमले सफल हुन सघाउँछ। आफ्नो जीवनका लागि गरिने काममा यति मग्न हुन्छन् कि कतिपय अवस्थामा परिवार तथा प्रेमिकालाई समेत समय दिन भ्याउँदैनन्। यद्यपि एक सफल व्यक्ति आफूलाई चाहनेहरूको हमेशा ख्याल राख्छन्।  उनीहरूमा आफ्नो परिवार, काम तथा जीवनप्रति तीव्र लगाव हुन्छ। कामप्रति पूर्ण लगाव छ भने उदास हुनुपर्ने स्थितिसमेत टर्छ। पूरा मेहनतका साथ अघि बढ्दा जीवनरूपी युद्ध सहजै जित्न सकिन्छ।

हामीले सफल मानिसलाई हेर्ने हो भने सबैजसोमा उस्तै कुरो पाउँछौँ, उनीहरू यस्तो निर्णय गर्छन् वा यस्तो कदम उठाउँछन् कि त्यसबाट सहजै लक्ष्यसम्म पुग्ने मार्ग बन्छ।  साँच्चै सफलता हासिल गर्ने चाहना छ भने त्यस्ता सबै कुराबाट टाढा रहनुपर्छ जसले लक्ष्यबाट ध्यान भड्काउँछन्, मार्गबाट विचलित पार्छन्। जबसम्म आफ्नो लक्ष्यमा केन्द्रित हुन सकिंदैन तबसम्म कहिल्यै लक्ष्य हासिल गर्न सकिंदैन।  एक लक्ष्य बनाइसकेपछि कुनै बहाना बनाउनु हुँदैन। कतिपय अवस्थामा एकैपटक धेरै काममा हात हालिन्छ अनि त्यसलाई एउटालाई बीचमा छोड्दै अर्को गर्दै गरिन्छ, यस्तो गरेर कहिल्यै कामको पार लगाउन सकिंदैन। एउटा काम समातिसकेपछि त्यसबाट इच्छित सफलता हासिल नहुन्जेलसम्म छोड्नु हुँदैन।  सफलता हात नलागुन्जेल मनलाई लक्ष्यबाट दायाँ बायाँ लाग्न दिनु हुँदैन। लक्ष्यमा पुगेपछि मात्र सास लिनुपर्छ।

सकारात्मकता  

मैले कहिल्यै सफलता हासिल गर्न सक्दिन भन्ने सोच्नुभयो भने पक्का मान्नुस् तपाईं कहिल्यै पनि सफल हुन सक्नुहुन्न।  तसर्थ सकारात्मक बन्नुस्, सकारात्मक सोचले मानिसभित्र त्यस्तो विश्वास पैदा गर्छ जसले उसलाई लक्ष्यसम्म पुग्न कुनै न कुनै बाटो देखाउँछ।  एक त्यस्तो बाटो, जो अनेक समस्या र कठिनाइले भरिएको नै किन नहोस् एक सकारात्मक व्यक्तिले त्यसलाई आफ्नो सकारात्मक दृष्टिबाट धेरै हदसम्म सहज बनाइदिन्छ र अन्तमा ऊ सफल पनि हुन्छ।  आफ्नो मस्तिष्कमा नकारात्मक विचारलाई स्थान दिनु भनेको आफैँ आफ्नो दुस्मन बन्नु हो। किनभने यसबाट ‘यो त सम्भव छैन, यस्तो त हुने सक्दैन’ जस्ता कुरामा मन रुमल्लिने हुँदा काममा केन्द्रित हुन सकिंदैन।  सफलता प्राप्त गर्ने तीव्र चाहना छ भने साथी, बी पोजेटिभ ! सकारात्मकताको बलमा जीवनमा चाहेको सबै कुरा प्राप्त गर्न सकिन्छ। यसबाहेक केवल आवश्यक छ : धैर्य र मेहनत।

निरन्तर संघर्ष 

तपाईंलाई कसैले रोक्न अनि छेक्न सक्दैन, कसैले हराउन सक्दैन।  तर यसका लागि तपाईं लड्न तयार हुनुपर्छ। आफूलाई जाँच्नका लागि जब तपाईं आफैँसँग लड्नुहुन्छ, त्यतिखेर तपाईंलाई कसले रोक्न सक्छ !

लड्नुको अर्थ कसैसँग मारपिट गर्नु होइन, लड्नुको अर्थ हो संघर्ष। जबसम्म तपाईंको सास चल्छ तबसम्म तपाईंले संघर्ष गर्नुपर्छ। यो संसारमा कुनै पनि त्यस्ता मानिस छैनन् जसले सफल भएपछि संघर्ष नगर्न छोडेको होस्।  । बिल गेट्स जो Microsoft का संस्थापक हुन्, उनले सफल भएपछि पनि आफ्नो संघर्ष जारी नै राखे।

यसै कारण उनले Window मा यति धेरै update संभव गराउन सके। त्यसैले त मानिसले  Window XP देखि indow 10 सम्म प्रयोग गर्न पाएका छन् जुन उनकै संघर्षको नतीजा हो।  यो संसारमा जति पनि मानिस सफल भएका छन् तिनले आफैँ मेहनत गरेका छन्, खूब संघर्ष गरेका छन्।  बिना स्ट्रगल कसैले पनि ठूलो लक्ष्य छुन सकेका छैनन्। र जसलाई हामी सफल भनिरहेका छौँ उनीहरू पनि आजसम्म संघर्ष गरिरहेकै छन्, आफ्नो क्षमता र सफलता बढाइरहेकै छन्।

उनीहरू हरेक दिन आफ्नो नकारात्मक विचारसँग लडिरहेका छन्, त्यसलाई सिद्ध्याइरहेका छन्, आफैँलाई अझ राम्रो बनाउनका लागि  लडिरहेका छन्, उनीहरू त्यस्ता सबै कुरासँग लडिरहेका छन् जसले उनीहरूलाई आफ्नो लक्ष्यबाट भड्काइरहेका छन्। तपाईं पनि लड्नुस्, आफूभित्रको आलस्य सिध्याउनुहोस्, आफूभित्रको ती सबै खराब कुराहरूलाई सिध्याउनुहोस् जो तपाईंको सफलतामा बाधक छन्।  

संघर्ष गर्न कहिल्यै झिंझो नमानौँ किनभने संघर्ष र सफलताको नाता  निकै पुरानो छ।

स्वयंलाई मोटिभेट राख्ने 

बिना मोटिवेशन कोही पनि अघि बढ्न सक्दैन । कतिपय अवस्थामा तपाईं निराश पनि हुन सक्नुहुन्छ, जब तपाईं असफल हुनुहुन्छ निश्चित रूपमा तपाईंको हौसला टुट्छ।  यो मैले नकारात्मक कुरा सुनाउन खोजेको होइन सच्चाइ बताएको मात्र हुँ। यो कुरो धेरै सफल मानिसको जीवनमा घटित भएको छ।

हरेक सफल हुनेहरू बारम्बार गिर्छन् तर बारम्बार उठ्छन् पनि।  यसर्थ सेल्फ मोटिवेशन अत्यन्त जरूरी छ ।

जब म निराश हुन्छु, साह्रै हैरान हुन्छु, त्यतिखेर एकान्तमा गएर मज्जाले रुन्छु, आफूभित्र जति पनि निराशा छ अथवा जति पनि नराम्रो महसूस गरिरहेको हुन्छु ती सबै आँसुसँगै बाहिर निस्कन्छ।  थाहा छैन किन यसो गर्छु तर जब म आफूलाई कमजोर महसूस गर्छु वा मलाई कुनै मोटिवेशन जरूरत पर्छ त्यतिखेर आफैँसँग कुरा गर्दै रुन्छु। अरूलाई यो बेवकूफी लाग्नसक्छ तर हामी आआफ्नो तरिकाले आफूलाई बलियो बनाउन वा आफू भित्र बढी शक्ति पैदा गर्न सक्छौँ।  तर यसका लागि रुनैपर्छ भन्ने होइन। धेरै मानिस घन्टौं ऐना अगाडि उभिएर आफैँसँग कुरा गर्छन्। यसरी आफैँसँग कुरा गर्नु, आफैँसँग समस्या बाँड्नु र आफैँसँग समस्या एवं निराशाको जवाफ माग्नु मोटिवेशनको एक ठूलो रहस्य हुनसक्छ।

तसर्थ मित्र ! आफूभित्रको आगो निभ्न नदिनुहोस् किनभने यही आगोले तपाईंलाई अगाडि  लैजान मदत गर्छ ।

विपरीतभन्दा विपरीत परिस्थितिमा पनि हिम्मत हार्नु हुँदैन, ठूल्ठूला समस्या आउन सक्छन् तर हरेक समस्याले आफूसँग समाधान तथा उक्त समस्यासँग जोडिएको ठूलो शिक्षा दिएर जान्छ।  र तपाईंले कुनै अर्को व्यक्तिसँग सिक्नुपर्दैन बरु आफूले आफ्नै जीवनसँग सिकिरहनुभएको हुन्छ। र सबैभन्दा ठूलो कुरो यो दिगो पनि हुन्छ।

तपाईं आफ्नो मोटिवेशनलाई कहिल्यै मर्न नदिनुहोस्, जति सम्भव हुन्छ आफूलाई  charged राख्नुस् किनभने बिना मोटिवेशन एक-एक कदम अघि बढ्नु कठिन हुन्छ। याद राख्नुपर्ने कुरा के भने हरेक कदममा तपाईंलाई आफैँबाट मोटिवेशन मिल्छ तर शर्त के छ भने पाइला रोकिनु हुँदैन।  लक्ष्य प्राप्त गर्नु छ भने पाइला अघि सार्नुको विकल्प छैन। पाइला अगाडि बढाउनै पर्छ।

काम सार्ने बानीबाट बच्ने 

धेरैमा हुने एक खराब बानी हो काम पर सार्ने।  एकछिनपछि गरुला नि के बितेको छ र भन्दाभन्दै दिन, हप्ता, महिना अनि वर्षौं बितेको समेत पत्तो हुँदैन।  यस्तो बानी लागेपछि त्यसले जीवनभर छोड्दैन।

तपाईं पनि यस्तो खराब बानीको सिकार हुनुहुन्छ भने याद राख्नुस्, तपाईले जीवनमा कहिल्यै ठूलो सफलता हासिल गर्न सक्नुहुन्न।  

काम सानो होस् वा ठूलो भरे गरुँला, भोलि गरुँला भनेर पर सार्ने बानीले जीवनमा गोल घेरामा घुमाइराख्छ र लक्ष्यबाट भड्काउने काम गर्छ।
